About this film

Nadodikkattu, directed by Sathyan Anthikad and released in 1987, follows Dasan and Vijayan, played by Mohanlal and Sreenivasan, two unemployed men in Kerala who plan to find work in Dubai but end up stranded in Chennai instead. Sreenivasan wrote the script from a story by the writing duo Siddique and Lal, drawing on the unemployment and poverty affecting Kerala in the 1980s. The Malayalam comedy established Mohanlal and Sreenivasan as a recurring onscreen pairing.
