About this film

Fazil directs this 1993 Malayalam psychological horror film, written by Madhu Muttam. The newlyweds Ganga and Nakulan move into Nakulan's ancestral home, Madampalli, over the objections of his tradition-minded uncle Thampi, who believes the mansion is haunted, and seemingly supernatural events soon follow. Mohanlal and Shobana star, with Shobana winning the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance as Ganga. It has since been remade in Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, and Hindi.
