About this film

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller direct this 2026 science fiction film, adapted by Drew Goddard from Andy Weir's 2021 novel. Ryan Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher who wakes alone on a spacecraft with no memory of his identity or mission. As his memory returns, he learns he was sent to investigate a substance draining the sun's energy. Sandra Huller, James Ortiz and Lionel Boyce play his crew, filmed on a practical spacecraft set built in the United Kingdom.
