Kumbalangi Nights

Kumbalangi Nights is one of the most beautiful Malayalam films I've ever seen. It's interesting because the director, Madhu C. Narayanan, was a debutant on this film — and he still hasn't made a single one since, and it's 2026 now. However many years it's been, he hasn't made another film, but he still remains one of the best directors in Malayalam just because of this one — everything came together for it: the cinematography, the actors, the music by Sushin Shyam, the story, all of it.

I think Dileesh Pothan deserves a lot of respect too. If you look at the behind-the-scenes footage and the interviews and discussions from the people who worked on this film, you realize it was a team effort — Dileesh Pothan and Shyam Pushkaran alongside the director. The director is brilliant, no doubt, but this wasn't him alone.

Every frame is beautiful. I think it's one of those films that has managed to capture the beauty of Kerala the best way.
