About this film

Ridley Scott directs this 2021 film, based on Eric Jager's 2004 book about a real medieval case, from a script by Nicole Holofcener, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon. In fourteenth-century France, the knight Jean de Carrouges challenges his former friend Jacques Le Gris to a judicial duel after his wife Marguerite accuses Le Gris of rape. The story unfolds in three chapters, each retelling events from one character's perspective. Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer star.
