About this film

Wes Anderson directs this comedy about Max Fischer, an ambitious prep school student played by Jason Schwartzman, who falls for a first-grade teacher, Rosemary Cross, played by Olivia Williams. Max seeks advice from wealthy industrialist Herman Blume, played by Bill Murray, only for a rivalry to develop between them over the teacher's attention. The film had modest box office returns but a strong critical reception, launching Schwartzman's acting career.
