About this film

Moneyball (2011) is based on Michael Lewis's 2003 book about the Oakland Athletics' 2002 season, when general manager Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt, tried to build a competitive team on a fraction of what rival clubs could spend. Bennett Miller directed the film, adapted by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin. Beane and his deputy, Peter Brand, played by Jonah Hill, use statistical analysis to find undervalued players, a method that draws skepticism from scouts and the wider baseball establishment.
