About this film

Hugo, directed by Martin Scorsese and released in 2011, adapts Brian Selznick's 2007 book The Invention of Hugo Cabret. An orphan living inside the walls of a Paris train station in the 1930s, Hugo maintains the station's clocks while protecting a broken automaton left by his late father, and with the goddaughter of an embittered toy seller he tries to solve the automaton's mystery, which leads back to pioneering filmmaker Georges Méliès. It was Scorsese's first film shot in 3D and won five Academy Awards.
