About this film

Alan Taylor directs this 2013 film, the eighth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thor and his brother Loki team up to save the Nine Realms from the Dark Elves, led by Malekith, who threaten to plunge the universe into darkness, a mission that reunites Thor with Jane Foster. Chris Hemsworth stars alongside Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins. Taylor, drawing on his work on Game of Thrones, aimed for a grounded tone.
