About this film

The Revenant, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu and released in 2015, draws in part on Michael Punke's 2002 novel describing the real experiences of frontiersman Hugh Glass in the 1820s. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Glass, who sets out after those who left him for dead following a bear attack, with Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Poulter among the men he pursues. DiCaprio won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the role, and Iñárritu won Best Director for the second consecutive year.
