About this film

The Martian (2015) follows astronaut Mark Watney, played by Matt Damon, who is presumed dead and left behind on Mars after his crew is forced to evacuate during a storm. Ridley Scott directed the film, adapting Andy Weir's 2011 novel through a screenplay by Drew Goddard. Watney has to rely on his own ingenuity to survive with limited supplies while NASA, aided by a cast including Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kristen Wiig, works out how to bring him home.
