About this film

The Conjuring (2013) is based on case files attributed to paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, whose reported work also inspired the Amityville Horror story. James Wan directed the film from a script by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. It follows the Warrens as they assist the Perron family, who face escalating disturbances after moving into a farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971, in what became the first Conjuring Universe film.
