About this film

J.J. Abrams directs and co-writes this 2015 film, opening the Star Wars sequel trilogy three decades after Return of the Jedi. Newcomers Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, and Finn, played by John Boyega, join Poe Dameron and an aging Han Solo in the search for the missing Luke Skywalker. General Leia Organa leads the Resistance, formed from Rebel Alliance veterans, against Kylo Ren and the First Order, a successor to the fallen Galactic Empire.
