About this film

Inside Out (2015) takes place inside the mind of eleven-year-old Riley as she adjusts to her family's move to a new city. Five emotions, Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, manage her thoughts and reactions, but when Joy and Sadness get separated from the control center, they have to find their way back through unfamiliar parts of her mind. Pete Docter directed the film for Pixar, developing the idea after noticing changes in his daughter's personality as she grew older.
