About this film

Michel Gondry directs this science fiction romantic drama, written by Charlie Kaufman from a story he developed with Gondry and Pierre Bismuth. Jim Carrey plays Joel Barish, who learns that his former girlfriend, played by Kate Winslet, has had her memories of their relationship erased and decides to undergo the same procedure. As the erasure proceeds, he begins to reconsider the choice from within his own fading memories. Its title comes from Alexander Pope's 1717 poem Eloisa to Abelard.
