About this film

Edward Scissorhands, directed by Tim Burton and released in 1990, follows an unfinished artificial man with scissor blades for hands, played by Johnny Depp, who is taken in by a suburban family after being discovered alone above the town. He falls for the family's teenage daughter as the neighborhood alternately embraces and turns on him. Burton based the story on his own childhood in suburban Burbank, and the film marked his fourth collaboration with composer Danny Elfman.
