About this film

In Don't Look Up (2021), two astronomers try to warn the public that a comet is on course to destroy Earth, only to find the media and political establishment largely indifferent. Adam McKay wrote and directed the film, using the comet as a stand-in for the threat of climate change. The satire also draws parallels to how society responded to science during the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming its comedy at corporate, celebrity and media apathy toward the crisis.
