About this film

Coco (2017) follows twelve-year-old Miguel, who dreams of playing music despite a generations-old family ban on it. Directed by Lee Unkrich for Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures, the film sends Miguel into the Land of the Dead, where he meets a trickster named Hector and searches for his deceased musician great-great-grandfather in hopes of lifting the ban and getting home. The story draws on the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, which Pixar began researching in 2016.
