About this film

Christopher Nolan directs this origin story for Bruce Wayne, played by Christian Bale, tracing his path from his parents' death to his transformation into Batman. Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, and Cillian Murphy round out the cast as Wayne builds a new identity to confront the corruption consuming Gotham City and stop Ra's al Ghul and the Scarecrow from destroying it. The film reboots the Batman series after Warner Bros. shelved earlier sequel plans.
