About this film

A Clockwork Orange (1971) is set in a near-future Britain and follows Alex DeLarge, played by Malcolm McDowell, a teenager who leads a small gang he calls his droogs through a spree of violence and theft while listening to Beethoven. Stanley Kubrick wrote, produced and directed the film, adapting Anthony Burgess's 1962 novel. After Alex is caught, the state offers him an experimental treatment meant to strip him of the capacity to choose violence, the Ludovico Technique.
