About this book

And the Mountains Echoed is the third novel by Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini, published in 2013 by Riverhead Books. Rather than following one protagonist, Hosseini structures the book like a linked story collection, with each of its nine chapters narrated from a different character's point of view. The narrative centers on ten-year-old Abdullah and his three-year-old sister Pari, and their father's decision to sell Pari to a childless couple in Kabul, an event that connects the various threads.
